Smokey Mountain Camping at a Cherokee - Bryson City NC Campground with Cabins

The campground is temporarily closed due to illness

We hope to reopen in 2015, hosting campers from Memorial Day weekend thru Labor Day weekend.

Please check back here in the spring for updates.

Are you looking for the perfect quiet and secluded Smokey Mountain camping experience? A beautiful wooded setting beside a rushing mountain stream; and a stocked pond where you can catch the trout you cook for dinner? Then Kirkland Creek Campground is for you.

At a cool 2,300-foot elevation, our campground is nestled in a grove of tall pine trees beside the sparkling Kirkland Creek. We’re off the beaten path, yet just minutes from all the great activities surrounding Bryson City and Cherokee, including the Nantahala Gorge, Deep Creek and the Great Smoky Mountains National Park.

We’re one of the few Bryson City campgrounds that give you plenty of activities right on the grounds, including a swimming pool and a trout pond where you or the kids can catch all the trout you can eat.

Is it Smokey or Smoky?

You'll enjoy Kirkland Creek's family friendly environment.
Year after year, campers come back to catch up with old friends and meet new ones. Try us once, and we'll become your favorite Bryson City campground, too.

Planning a family reunion? We have all the different kinds of campsites you may need — tent sites, RV and pop-up hookups — even cabins. A Smokey Mountain camping experience to suit everyone.

Pop-ups and tenters
are our specialty.
